US forces will be targeted if they try to enter the Strait of Hormuz, Iran

The Iranian military has warned that if US forces enter the Strait of Hormuz, they will be attacked.

The statement from the Iranian military comes at a time when US President Donald Trump has announced an operation related to the free passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

A statement issued by the head of Iran’s Central Military Command said that ‘any foreign armed force that tries to approach or enter the Strait of Hormuz will be targeted, especially the US military.’

Major General Ali Abdullahi of the Iranian military said that ‘Iran has made it clear many times that the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the Iranian armed forces and the safe passage through it must be in coordination with Iran in any case.’

The statement was broadcast by the Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.

It should be remembered that US President Donald Trump announced the launch of ‘Project Freedom’ on Monday morning to begin efforts to free ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz, and also warned that any interference would be ‘unfortunately’ met with force.

On the other hand, the US Central Command says that guided missile destroyers, more than 100 land and sea aircraft, unmanned platforms used in various fields, and 15,000 military personnel should be deployed to support ‘Project Freedom’.
