Afghan Taliban officials say that 36 civilians were killed and 163 injured as a result of the bombing carried out by Pakistan in several areas last night.
It should be recalled that Pakistan has claimed that on Sunday night, based on ‘authentic intelligence information’, Pakistani forces successfully targeted three targets affiliated with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in the Paktika, Paktia and Kanter regions of Afghanistan, killing 25 militants.
However, a spokesman for the Afghan Taliban has described the operation as ‘cowardly’ and ‘brutal’ and has alleged that the Pakistani army’s airstrikes targeted civilian areas, resulting in the killing and injury of dozens of Afghan civilians, including women and children.
Pakistan further says that as a result of these attacks, a large amount of weapons and ammunition in these militant centers have also been destroyed.
A statement posted on ‘X’ by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar on Sunday night claimed that after the incidents of extremism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and the attack on a Rangers camp in Karachi on Saturday night, camps and hideouts of terrorists belonging to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Fitna-ul-Khawarij in the border areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan were targeted with precision in two separate operations.
