The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) has said that approximately 140 military targets were hit in the third wave of attacks against Iran.
In a statement released on the social media website X, the US military said the new strikes were aimed at “holding Iranian forces accountable after another attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.”
According to CENTCOM, “US forces targeted Iran with fighter jets, drones and ship-launched weapons.”
The US military said the targets targeted included Iranian missile and drone installations, naval capabilities, ammunition storage facilities, communications networks and coastal surveillance sites.
According to CENTCOM, the three strikes this week targeted more than 300 Iranian targets in an effort to disrupt Iran’s ability to attack shipping passing freely through the Strait of Hormuz.
