Today, a single slogan is echoing from the streets, markets, and mountaintops of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir: “You will see a revolution in the country!”
This movement is no longer limited to electricity bills and flour subsidies. It has grown from an economic slogan to a full-fledged revolutionary struggle. It is the cry of a nation that has been deprived of its own resources, its own water, and the earnings of its hard work for decades.
Today, under the leadership of the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee, the Kashmiri nation has awakened all over the world. Our struggle is to demand and snatch away the constitutional and democratic rights to our homeland and its resources!
The powerful circles thought that bullets would bring fear.
They thought that shutting down the internet would drown out the voice.
They thought that this lava would stop by erecting barriers.
They thought that this lava would cool by dumping bodies.
But history is witness! Mother’s lap is torn, young people are bathed in blood, elders are standing on the road with sticks but no one has taken a single step back. This is a wall of lead. Neither bullets nor tear gas can break it.
The biggest question? Those 12 disputed seats of the assembly!
These seats are a robbery on our political existence. Are non-locals allowed to make decisions in our house? No! Now this oppression will not be tolerated any longer. The right of the local to the local! Today the streets are witnesses. The shutter down has been witnessed for 40 days. The sea of millions is witness.
This is not a strike, this is a declaration. Declaration of the right to rule, the right to property, the right to justice, the declaration of revolution!
This is the turning point in history where the Kashmiri nation has taken up the pen itself. Now the decisions will not be in Islamabad, but on the streets of Muzaffarabad. Now instead of seeing destiny in the hands of someone else, we will write it with our own hands.
Beware!
We are peaceful but not weak.
We are patriots but not traitors.
Recognize our right to our resources, otherwise this revolution will break every chain!
It is inevitable to hand over the right of ownership and the right of governance to the Kashmiri people!
