A case has been registered at Shalimar Police Station for a protest held in Sector F-10 Markaz of Pakistan’s capital Islamabad to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
According to the police, the case has been registered against opposition alliance spokesperson Akhwanzada Hussain Yousafzai and former senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, among other participants.
According to the text of the FIR, about 400 to 500 people participated in the protest, who blocked the road and suspended the flow of traffic.
The text has taken the stand that despite being warned by the police, the protesters flatly refused to disperse.
The text of the case further alleges that the protesters attacked and vandalized a media DSNG vehicle during the protest. In addition, the protesters resisted the police, damaged government vehicles and pelted stones at the police, resulting in injuries to several police officers.
The police said that while taking action against the said demonstration, a case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Act, among other legal provisions, and an investigation has been initiated.
