In view of the overall law and order situation and security concerns in Balochistan, curfew, restrictions on movement and closure of markets have been imposed in several districts of the province, due to which the movement of citizens and daily routines have been severely affected.
According to a statement issued by the district administration, Sorab, a night curfew has been imposed across the district till August 15 to ensure the safety of lives and property of citizens. The curfew hours will be from 8:00 pm to 9:00 am daily.
The administration has directed the citizens to avoid unnecessary exits during the prescribed hours and strictly follow the security SOPs. The statement clarified that those violating the curfew will be responsible for any loss they cause and action will be taken against them as per the law.
According to a senior government official, restrictions have also been imposed on the movement of people in some parts of Lasbela city. Similar restrictions have been imposed in other districts as well.
In Kalat district, movement is restricted from 6:00 pm to 10:00 am. Similarly, in Khuzdar district, movement of citizens is restricted from 8:00 pm to 10:00 am.
There is an undeclared curfew and lockdown-like situation in Nushki district where all the entrance and exit routes of the city have been closed and a heavy contingent of security forces and detachments have been deployed.
Force personnel are patrolling the roads while citizens are confined to their homes.
Due to the closure of routes, government and private employees have been unable to reach offices, while teachers and students have been unable to reach schools.
Due to the suspension of internet service in the area, the public is facing severe difficulties and communication links have been disrupted.
In Panjgur district, all the major and minor markets, including the central Chitkan Bazaar, remained closed due to security concerns.
According to shopkeepers, they were prevented from going to the market by security forces.
Due to the closure of the highways, there is almost no traffic on the roads and the transportation system has been suspended.
No official explanation has been issued by any government or non-government organization regarding the specific reason for these strict security measures and closures in Panjgur and Noshki.
