Muzaffarabad: Lack of basic facilities, Public Health Department employees continue to protest

Muzaffarabad/Kashgil News

The technical field staff of the Public Health Department of Pakistan-administered Kashmir have been protesting for the past several days demanding scale up-gradation and approval of treatment plant Makri Phase II posts.

The protesters say that despite the clear decisions of the High Court, the scale up-gradation of field workers is not being implemented, due to which there is severe anxiety among the employees.

They maintain that they have been raising their voice for the improvement of basic facilities and service structure for a long time, but the concerned authorities are not showing seriousness.

The protesting employees also demanded immediate approval of the posts of the phase two project of the treatment plant Makri and said that the completion of this project is indispensable for the supply of clean water to the city of Muzaffarabad.

The protesters warned that if their demands are not accepted, they will take a tough line of action and expand the scope of the protest by stopping the water supply to Muzaffarabad city. The entire responsibility for which will lie with the concerned authorities.

On the other hand, there has been no official response from the Public Health Department or the government on this issue so far.
