Assistant Commissioner in Abbaspur accused of alleged torture on driver, notice from Commissioner Poonch Division

Assistant Commissioner Shahzad Abbasi has been accused of allegedly torturing his driver Arshad in Abbaspur tehsil of Poonch district of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

According to sources, the incident took place in the AC office in Abbaspur where the assistant commissioner allegedly attacked his driver with kicks and punches and abused him.

Other employees present in the office intervened and saved the driver from the alleged torture and immediately shifted him to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Abbaspur.

Driver Arshad has alleged that he was tortured in front of all the employees and abusive words were used, which hurt his self-respect.

He has demanded that the Commissioner Poonch Division and other high-ranking officials conduct a transparent investigation into the incident and provide him justice.

On the other hand, Commissioner Poonch Division Sardar Waheed has taken notice of the incident and summoned both the parties.

The commissioner says that a fair inquiry will be conducted into the matter and if the allegations are proven true, the strictest action will be taken against those responsible.

Following the incident, there is concern in government circles and at the local level, while citizens have demanded a transparent investigation and action according to the law.
