Raids on Homes of Two PTI Provincial Ministers; MNA Zubair Khan Arrested

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed that raids were conducted on the homes of two provincial ministers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Muhammad Zubair Khan Wazir was arrested.

In a statement issued on the social media platform X, PTI stated that a raid was carried out last night on the residence of the Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhr-e-Jahan. In a separate operation, a heavy police contingent also raided the home of Irrigation Minister Riaz Khan in Buner.

According to PTI, unidentified individuals kept the home of MNA Muhammad Zubair Khan Wazir—representing constituency NA-42 (South Waziristan)—under siege for several hours. The statement claimed that the family members present in the house were held hostage.

The statement further noted that a heavy police contingent subsequently raided Zubair Khan Wazir’s residence again and arrested him following an exchange of fire.

In its post on X, PTI demanded that “all police personnel involved in these raids be immediately identified and action taken against them.”

The party called upon the provincial government to conduct an impartial investigation to ascertain the facts, identify those responsible, and initiate legal proceedings against them.

The statement added, “Relevant authorities must immediately ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of the affected representatives’ families.”
