Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has stated, “Our long march will go ahead regardless of the obstacles—whether they drive spikes into the roads, place shipping containers, or open fire.”
Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi affirmed that the long march would certainly take place, although he did not announce the specific strategy or timing for it.
He said, “The PTI political committee meeting is still underway, and we will meet you again after it concludes. When we step out this time, we will deal with this ‘corrupt system’ once and for all.”
He added, “For a month, a narrative was being built that the threat to us comes not from India, but from three [other] provinces. Are we to assume that a conspiracy to break up Pakistan has formally begun? Spikes are being driven into the ground where the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border ends, and officials from other provinces are intruding into our province and engaging in physical altercations. What is one to make of this?”
He stated, “We have received word that our press conference will not be aired on television and that instructions have been issued to deny media coverage to the province’s Chief Minister. The conspiracy currently unfolding is extremely dangerous.”
He further remarked, “Our ministers are being abducted with the help of individuals dressed in plain clothes; they are attempting to sow chaos. They have forced the closure of the Secretariat—the very hub that runs the entire province’s administration—by issuing threats.” “There was no threat there; the entire cantonment is under the control of the armed forces.”
Sohail Afridi has stated that he is currently on his way to Charsadda, where he will visit the hujra (guest house) of the missing provincial minister, Fazal Shakoor, and address party workers.
