The disciplinary committee at Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, expelled 4 students from the university for singing the Indian anthem.
Two days ago, a few students sang the Indian anthem and raised slogans at Bacha Khan University, and later a video of this action was uploaded on social media.
Taking strict notice of the incident, the university administration called a meeting of the disciplinary committee of the university, where during the 73rd meeting of the committee, it was decided to immediately expel the four students of the pharmacy department involved in the incident from the university.
According to a notification issued by Bacha Khan University in this regard, the hostel seats of the four mentioned students have also been cancelled immediately.
The notification said that following the recommendations of the 73rd meeting of the university’s disciplinary committee held on February 13 and the approval of the competent authorities, the students involved in the incident have been expelled for violating the university and hostel rules by raising anti-state slogans within the university premises.
It was further informed that these students also sang the national anthem of India with the intention of inciting provocation and disrupting national unity, recorded the incident and released the video on social media platforms, which is an illegal act.
The notification said that the hostel seats of these students have also been cancelled and they have been directed to vacate the hostel immediately.
