Five days have elapsed since the arrest of Khalid Khurshid—the former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan and provincial president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the region—and Sarkar Abbas, a leader of the party’s Youth Wing. However, no information regarding them has emerged thus far.
The PTI Gilgit-Baltistan chapter and the Insaf Lawyers Forum (Gilgit-Baltistan) have demanded that the public be immediately informed about the status of former Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid and Sarkar Abbas.
Calling for the release of both leaders, the PTI Gilgit-Baltistan has urged the relevant authorities to provide clear information regarding the current situation of the detained leaders, in order to resolve the ambiguity surrounding this matter.
