Three individuals were killed and two others abducted during an armed clash in the Qilla Abdullah district of Balochistan.
According to local sources, unidentified gunmen attacked a hideout in Qilla Abdullah district, leading to an exchange of fire and an armed clash.
Sources state that three people were killed in the clash, while the gunmen abducted two others and took them away.
The incident reportedly took place last night in the Tang Mizaai area of Qilla Abdullah.
Local sources indicate that those killed were former Afghan military personnel, and several others sustained injuries during the clash.
Before fleeing, the attackers also took weapons and ammunition with them.
Following the incident, the victims’ relatives staged a protest by placing the bodies on the road, demanding action against the attackers; the protest resulted in the closure of the Quetta-Chaman highway.
The Deputy Commissioner of Qilla Abdullah stated that the safe recovery of the abducted individuals is the priority.
No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the incident; however, similar attacks targeting former Afghan security personnel—resulting in fatalities—have occurred in Balochistan in the past. According to reports, the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies have been utilizing these former Afghan security personnel—who include former members of the army, police, and other security forces—as an armed militia to counter militant groups operating in Balochistan, in line with state policy.
