At least 12 people, including a senior Hezbollah leader, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon on Friday. State media reported the death toll at 10.
The Israeli military said it had targeted Hezbollah and its Palestinian ally Hamas.
A statement issued by Hezbollah confirmed the death of one of its leaders in Israeli strikes in eastern Lebanon. The group identified the leader killed in the attack as Mohammed Yaghi Sadiq.
The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed that “10 people were killed and 24 others were wounded in Israeli strikes in several locations in the Bekaa Valley.” The ministry said three children were among the injured.
The strikes came hours after an Israeli attack on the country’s largest Palestinian refugee camp, which killed two people.
