The 13 people killed in a Pakistani airstrike on a house in the Kurdi Kas area of Behsud district in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, last night have been buried.
BBC Persian’s Emma Barz reports from Afghanistan that the search for five more members of the family is still ongoing.
Afghan officials claim that 18 members of the same family were killed and five injured in the attack.
According to BBC Pashto, airstrikes were also carried out in Khogyani and Ghani Khel in Nangarhar last night, as well as in Barmal and Arghun in Paktika, however, no casualties were reported there.
On the other hand, responding to a media query about Pakistan’s air strikes on Afghanistan, Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “India strongly condemns the air strikes carried out by Pakistan on Afghan territory, which resulted in the deaths of civilians, including women and children, during the holy month of Ramadan.”
The statement further said, “This is yet another attempt by Pakistan to project its internal failures on an external platform. India reiterates its support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.”
