The border tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan has increased to a dangerous level. According to initial reports, Afghan forces have launched counter-attacks against the Pakistani army, as a result of which clashes are ongoing on both sides and the situation has become more tense.
Sources say that Afghan forces have captured two Pakistani militia posts in the Machhan Nau area near the disputed border line in Dur Baba district of Nangarhar province. Similarly, there are reports of capturing three more posts in the Anargi area of Goshta district. Afghan forces have also taken action in the Doklam area of Nari district of Kunar province and captured two posts and set them on fire. In total, claims have emerged of capturing and burning seven posts.
At the same time, Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed the extensive military operations against Pakistan and said that Pakistani military centers and installations are being targeted by border forces. He claimed on social media platform X that Taliban forces have destroyed several Pakistani check posts. According to some sources, Taliban forces have captured 15 check posts of the Pakistani army, several military personnel were killed in the attacks, while several were captured alive.
There has been no official response from Pakistani authorities to these claims yet. However, locals in the Bara and Tirah areas say that the sounds of clashes are being heard far and wide, which has increased fear and panic among the people.
It should be remembered that Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid had said in a statement given to Al Arabiya English a few days ago that “Pakistan’s recent air strikes will be responded to militarily, but the details of it are confidential. Pakistan should be held accountable for its shameful actions.”
