Strong reservations expressed over the performance of state institutions in Gilgit-Baltistan

Strong reservations are being expressed over the performance of state agencies in the Ghandus area of Gilgit-Baltistan under Pakistan administration.

Addressing the Friday prayer gathering, Imam of Juma and Jamaat Ghandus, Mirwaiz Ghandus Kharmang Agha Syed Ali Abbas Rizvi expressed strong reservations over the performance of some agencies in Gilgit-Baltistan.

He alleged that allegedly false and baseless reports are being prepared and sent against local scholars, pilgrims and people raising their voices for public rights, which are contrary to reality and against the interests of the area.

He said that if an individual has committed any crime, he should be presented in the courts and action should be taken as per the law. Including individuals in Schedule IV without evidence, putting names on the ECL or putting mental pressure through other administrative measures is against the requirements of justice.

Mirwaiz also questioned the denial of medical treatment to Shabbir Mayar and asked under which law this step is being taken?

At the end of his speech, he warned that if the situation continues, the people will be forced to protest.
