Journalist Sohrab Barkat has been released from jail in Pakistan after almost 100 days.
He was arrested under the PECA Act and named in various cases.
According to sources, Sohrab Barkat was kept in custody despite getting bail from the courts in several cases, however, he has been released after recent judicial developments.
It should be remembered that Sohrab Barkat’s arrest had led to criticism from journalistic circles and human rights organizations, who were of the view that the use of cyber laws against journalists raises questions on freedom of expression.
