In Gilgit-Baltistan, the Chairman of the Public Action Committee, Advocate Ehsan Ali, was arrested by the police from his house at around 11:30 pm.
According to sources, a large contingent of police reached his residence, took him into custody and shifted him to the Cantt Police Station, Jotial.
The arrest of Advocate Ehsan Ali has drawn strong reactions from various political and social circles and this move is being strongly condemned.
The leaders and workers of the Public Action Committee say that it is regrettable to arrest leaders who raise their voices for public rights in this way.
They have demanded that the government immediately release Advocate Ehsan Ali and clarify the reasons for the arrest.
The Public Action Committee has warned that if he is not released soon, a protest plan will be announced against it.
