US Central Command (CENTCOM) has claimed that US forces have destroyed 16 Iranian minelaying boats near the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM has also released a video that apparently shows these boats being targeted.

It should be noted that the Israeli Defense Forces have said that they have launched a ‘wave of additional strikes’ on targets in the Iranian capital Tehran.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had said that the forces had destroyed 10 inactive Iranian boats and had promised to deal with these boats “swiftly and harshly”.

In this regard, US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that if it lays mines in the Strait of Hormuz, the consequences will be like never before.

President Trump said in a statement on his social media platform Truth Social that if Iran has laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz, they should be removed immediately.

He said that the United States does not have a definitive report on this, but if the tunnels have been laid and they are not removed immediately, Iran could face severe military consequences.

He said that if Iran were to back down on this issue and remove any tunnels, it would be a big step towards reducing tensions.

On the other hand, US intelligence sources say that Iran is preparing to lay naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz. According to reports, Iran may use small boats that are capable of carrying two to three mines.

According to the US broadcaster CBS News, these concerns are also important because the Strait of Hormuz is a very important sea route for global trade.

In recent days, this fear has led to a significant increase in oil prices in the global market, as oil is supplied to a large part of the world through this route.
