Kharmang: Protest demonstration against the arrest of AAC leaders

A series of protests has started in Kharmang Baltistan with the Quds Rally against the illegal arrests of Awami Action Committee Gilgit-Baltistan leaders.

In the Quds Day rally, Awami Action Committee Kharmang President Shabir Mayar and the participants of the rally strongly condemned the arrest of Awami Action Committee Gilgit-Baltistan Chairman Ehsan Ali Advocate and other leaders and the registration of fabricated FIRs against them under ATA and demanded the immediate release of the Awami Action Committee Gilgit-Baltistan leaders.

The protesters said that on Quds Day, we should remember that the struggle against the usurpers from the land of Palestine to the land of the north is our responsibility. The pretext for arresting the Awami Action Committee leaders has been accused of conspiring to incite the people during an Iftar party.

He said that there was a discussion at the Iftar party regarding the protection of public resources and the peaceful protest movement for the youth killed during the recent arson attack, which the government is sending a message by putting under the category of ATA that the pursuit of justice is a sign of danger for the rulers.

He said that the usurpation of the rights of expression and peaceful protest through the black law of ATA is very worrying.

It should be remembered that last year, there were strong protests in many countries including Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan against the arrests of the leaders and workers of the Awami Action Committee, as a result of which the government was forced to release them. If the leaders are not released in full, then the series of protests will continue once again.
