Enemy’s estimates proved wrong, resistance will continue despite attacks, Mojtaba Khamenei

Iran’s third Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a written message on the occasion of the Nowruz festival, which was read out on state TV today. His message consists of nine pages.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said in his statement three weeks after the start of the ongoing war against the United States and Israel that the enemy thought that the government would be overthrown by eliminating the top leadership, but this turned out to be a misunderstanding.

He praised the resistance of the Iranian people and said that the defense front has been strengthened throughout the country, which has “surprised the enemy.”

In this message, he said that Iran has gone through three wars so far this year, the first against Israel in June, the second current war and the third war in the anti-establishment protests in December last year.

He praised those who attended the rallies in support of the establishment and said that people should remember their father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, while celebrating Nowruz.

The Iranian Supreme Leader called his father’s death a “martyrdom.” Mojtaba Khamenei has also presented this year’s slogan: “Resistance economy under the shadow of national unity and national security.”

Mentioning Iran’s neighboring countries, he said that Iran considers its eastern neighbors “very closely.” He named Pakistan, saying that the country was his father’s “special favorite.”

Khamenei stressed the need for better relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying that he was “ready to take the necessary steps” on his part. He said that the aim was to end divisions among Muslims.

Referring to attacks on neighboring countries during the war, he claimed that Iranian armed forces did not attack Turkey and Oman.

He accused Israel of “playing tricks” to drive a wedge between Iran and its neighbors.

The style is a marked departure from the traditional Nowruz messages of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who always delivered messages in front of the camera.

Mojtaba Khamenei was elected to succeed his father earlier this month. He has not yet appeared in public, nor has he been filmed or photographed.

Several of his written messages have been published in Iranian media.
