An innocent pedestrian lost his life in crossfire during a clash between the Gujjar community and the Rajgan community in Union Council Chadakpura of Khaora constituency five of Muzaffarabad district of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
According to police sources, the incident took place when a sudden dispute between the two communities intensified and an exchange of fire began. During this, a passerby, Bashir Mughal, who was passing by, was seriously injured by a bullet. He was immediately shifted for medical assistance, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased is said to belong to Dhara Mughalan, Chadakpura and he was walking as per his daily routine when he became a victim of this tragic incident.
After the incident, there was severe panic in the area while the locals demanded that the authorities take immediate notice and take action against those responsible.
Police say an investigation into the incident has been launched and raids are being conducted to arrest the suspects, while security forces have been deployed in the area to prevent further tension.
According to local sources, an old dispute between the two communities could also be a possible reason for the incident, but the final facts will come out after the investigation is completed.
