New wave of coordinated attacks by freedom fighters in Balochistan, 13 killed, 20 injured, Section 144 imposed

A new wave of coordinated and successive attacks by armed men in different districts of Pakistan-occupied Balochistan has emerged last night and Sunday, targeting security forces, highways, railway tracks and electricity infrastructure.

According to officials, a total of 13 people have been killed and 20 injured, including 6 attackers, 4 security personnel and a civilian. Section 144 has been imposed in 10 districts of Balochistan.

According to further reports, unknown persons attacked a security forces camp near Village Aid on Sariab Road in Quetta with under-barrel grenades and firing.

According to police, a civilian, Gul Muhammad, was killed in the attack while 16 people were injured, including four security forces personnel and an officer.

The injured civilians include Fahm, Azizullah, Mir Ahmed, Dawood, Hasnain, Behrooz, Tanveer, Sohail, Abdul Malik, Shakeel, Noor Bakhsh and Umair.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies and injured to the hospital while forces cordoned off the area, collected evidence and started a search operation.

Unknown individuals destroyed the railway track at two different locations near Ahmadwal and Gumazi areas of Nushki with explosions.

Train traffic has been suspended after the incident.

The main towers of the high-tension line going to Punjab near Dera Murad Jamali were targeted with explosions, as a result of which two towers were completely destroyed while five towers were affected in total.

Earlier, three towers were also destroyed near Sibi.

Baloch independence-minded armed organizations have been active in the affected areas and have claimed responsibility for such attacks in the past, however, no group has claimed responsibility for the latest attacks.

Following the coordinated attacks, Balochistan authorities have imposed Section 144 in 10 districts, banning public gatherings, unnecessary movement and display of weapons.

Security agencies have said the attacks are aimed at destabilizing Balochistan and search operations have been intensified.
