Iran denies Trump’s claim of transferring enriched uranium to US

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaie rejected President Donald Trump’s claim that Tehran had agreed to allow its enriched uranium to be transferred to the US.

“Enriched uranium is as sacred to us as Iranian soil and will not be transferred anywhere under any circumstances,” Baqaie said on Friday, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

Trump had previously claimed that Tehran had agreed to work with Washington to remove enriched uranium from Iran and bring it to the US.

The president repeatedly expressed confidence on Friday that a deal would be reached “in the next two days” and that peace talks would take place later this week.
