According to US Central Command (Centcom), ‘surveillance centers, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons depots and naval installations were targeted during the operations.’
The statement said that ‘fighter jets, drones, warships and other military assets were used in these attacks.’
Centcom added that ‘in accordance with the President’s orders, operations are underway to hold Iran accountable for its actions, while the naval blockade of Iranian ports is also fully implemented. is being imported.’
According to the statement, there are currently more than 50,000 US troops deployed in the Middle East, who are ready for combat operations at all times and fully operational.
Regarding the US attacks, an official from the governor’s office of Iran’s Hormozgan province said that eight people were killed and 19 were injured in the US attacks since Thursday night.
Earlier, the Iranian Ministry of Health announced that 38 people had been killed in US attacks in July.
Iranian Health Ministry officials wrote on the social media platform X that as of 6:30 am on July 16, the number of people injured in the US attacks had exceeded 400, while 38 people had died during this time.
According to them, the injured included 22 women and nine children under the age of 18, while the dead included a young man under the age of 18.
According to officials, 47 people are still undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Iran.
The new series of US strikes on Iran began on July 6 in response to the targeting of several vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has since retaliated, saying they target US interests and bases in the region.
Iranian state media and provincial officials said the strikes on Thursday night hit several bridges, a train station and an airport. BBC Verify confirmed the attack on a bridge in Hormozgan province.
