The increasing control and coordinated attacks by militants in Chagai and Kech districts of Balochistan have made the security situation extremely worrying. Armed men continue to blockade the Quetta-Taftan international highway, while a driver was killed and other people were kidnapped as a result of firing on a convoy carrying rations of forces in Buleda.
All efforts by security forces to provide security to trade convoys in Chagai district are proving to be unsuccessful and armed men are maintaining their control at several points on the highway.
In Charsar area of ​​Chagai, armed men targeted a joint convoy of security forces and commercial vehicles at three different points, causing serious financial and security losses to the forces and traders.
At Chatar near Dalbandin, armed men seized a vehicle belonging to a large trade convoy along with its cargo and diverted it to an unknown destination.
The continuous attacks and the incidents of drivers and vehicles being seized yesterday have spread fear among traders and traffic on the main international route has been severely affected.
In the Buleda area of ​​Kech district, a convoy returning from the Security Forces (FC) headquarters after unloading rations was targeted by armed motorcyclists.
A Zamyad vehicle and two Mazda trucks were returning after delivering rations to the FC headquarters when armed men opened indiscriminate fire on them.
As a result of the fire, the truck driver Nasir son of Musa (resident of Khuzdar) was killed on the spot, while the Zamyad driver was injured. The attackers set the Zamyad vehicle on fire.
The armed men released the cleaner from the warehouse, but took the truck owner’s son into custody and took him with them.
