Revolutionary Guard Claims Acquisition of ‘Ultra-Modern Weapons’

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard states that, following recent hostilities, it has acquired “ultra-modern weapons” while bolstering its military capabilities against the United States and Israel.

Revolutionary Guard spokesman Hossein Mohebbi stated that while Iran primarily utilized older-generation weaponry during the 40-day conflict, it has since acquired far more advanced arms.

However, he provided no details regarding the nature of these “ultra-modern weapons” or how they were obtained.

A senior Revolutionary Guard official added, “Iran is prepared to respond to any new aggression with greater force than ever before, and this time, the consequences for the United States will be far more painful.”

Separately, the Revolutionary Guard reported that a container ship sank in the Strait of Hormuz after striking a naval mine.

According to the public relations department of the Revolutionary Guard’s navy, the vessel struck the mine while attempting to navigate an “unauthorized and dangerous route” through the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement noted that the ship was carrying more than 2,500 containers.

The Revolutionary Guard reported that a “fierce fire” broke out following the collision, and the vessel sank this morning in the southern waters of the Strait of Hormuz.

Other agencies monitoring security incidents in the Strait of Hormuz have not yet released information regarding this incident or potential casualties among the ship’s crew.
