A new wave of oppression and violence has been unleashed by the Pakistani army and the local administration in an attempt to suppress the ongoing popular movement in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
According to the latest reports, a local police contingent has launched a raid on the Lower Kothiyan (Dolariyan) neighborhood, effectively turning the entire area into a military-style garrison.
Sources indicate that security forces, led by a local police official, are entering homes without permission—violating the sanctity of private residences—and subjecting women to persistent mistreatment, indecent behavior, and repeated threats of dire consequences. During this operation, three local youths were subjected to severe physical assault and threatened with death and other grave repercussions.
Reacting strongly to this state-sponsored fascism, Umer Nazir Kashmiri, a core member of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), stated: “The indiscriminate use of state power and brutality has never succeeded in breaking the revolutionary resolve of the people, nor will it ever do so. The authorities must act with immediate seriousness and ensure the prompt implementation of all legitimate demands presented by the Awami Action Committee.”
Meanwhile, updates from the Tahein Dhalkot entry point indicate that Pakistani forces have taken complete control of the key bridge located there. The deployment of heavy security forces along the routes has brought all traffic movement to a complete standstill; meanwhile, ordinary citizens crossing the border on foot are also enduring severe humiliation and hardships at the security checkpoints.
In the face of this intense siege and occupation by the forces, the peaceful sit-in protest organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee continues—persisting with unwavering resolve and spirit, despite the highly adverse conditions.
