The international human rights organization Amnesty International has said that five Baloch activists in Pakistan have been in alleged illegal detention for almost a year and should be released immediately.
In a statement issued on Monday, March 16, 2026, the organization said that Baloch activists Mahrang Baloch, Beberg Zehri, Bebo Baloch, Shahji Sibghatullah and Gulzadi Baloch have been detained solely on the basis of peaceful activities.
According to Amnesty International, all these activists are currently imprisoned in Quetta’s Hada Jail where they are facing a secret trial inside the prison.
The organization says that the detained activists are not even being provided with proper medical facilities.
The statement specifically states that Mahrang Baloch’s health has deteriorated significantly during his detention and he needs urgent medical attention.
Amnesty International has called on Balochistan authorities to immediately release all Baloch activists and drop all charges against them.
