Former Member of National Assembly of Pakistan and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement leader Ali Wazir\u2019s legal team on Saturday filed a constitutional petition in the Hyderabad Circuit Court of the Sindh High Court, seeking quashing of the second FIR registered against him by the Dadu police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the minister\u2019s lawyer Imdad Haider Solangi, a bench comprising Justice Riazat Sahar and Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry will hear the petition on March 31, while a separate bench will hear the petition to quash the first FIR on March 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The petition has taken the stand that the second FIR (No. 40\/2026), which was registered at Dadu\u2019s B Section police station on March 17, is based on baseless allegations. According to the FIR, protesters carrying Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) flags blocked the road and demanded the minister\u2019s release. Police claim that the protesters refused to disperse and allegedly opened fire on the police while armed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police have alleged in the FIR that the protesters were acting on the minister\u2019s instructions and created unrest to resist arrest. However, the defense team is rejecting these allegations and calling them politically motivated cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, the first FIR (No. 93\/2026), which was registered on the night of March 16 at PS A Section Dadu, includes sections 123-A, 124-A and 124-B of the Pakistan Penal Code as well as provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. This FIR also alleges that the minister\u2019s supporters blocked the road, raised anti-state slogans and incited against the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that Ali Wazir had earlier filed a constitutional petition against the first FIR in the Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court on March 26.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
