The statement of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, a popular movement of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, at its meeting in Mirpur, Dadial on March 30\/31 is not just a formal statement, but is actually the initial indication of a political and public storm that, if it reaches its logical conclusion, will shake the traditional politics and governance structure of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This statement is of exceptional importance in several respects. First of all, it does not directly challenge the election process, but rather targets the possible rigging, unrepresentative seats and constitutional flaws in its name. This is a very important and strategic stance, because it has given a clear message that the Public Action Committee is not against democracy but against fake democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Declaring the 12 seats named after refugees residing in Pakistan as \u201cillegal and controversial\u201d is actually questioning the basis of this entire electoral structure. This is a point that has been under discussion for years, but for the first time it has been raised publicly with this intensity, clarity and collective force. If this demand is ignored, the credibility of the upcoming elections will be in doubt from the very beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second major aspect of the declaration is the blatant violation of the October 4, 2025 agreement. This is not just a political accusation but an indictment of the seriousness, intention and sanctity of the rulers\u2019 public promises. When an agreed agreement is not implemented, then negotiations, assurances and political statements all become meaningless. This is the point from where the public movements enter their next phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline of May 31, 2026 actually draws a decisive line. After this, the long march announced on June 9 will not be just a protest rally, but if this march from Bhimber Mirpur to Muzaffarabad really goes ahead with public participation, it can prove to be a major turning point in the history of this region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Especially the announcement of an indefinite lockdown and a sit-in outside the assembly indicates that this time the movement may be very different and even decisive. The instruction to the people to stockpile one month\u2019s ration is clear evidence that the leadership is going to enter this struggle into a long and tough phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another important aspect in the declaration is the criticism of state repression, arrests and double standards. On the one hand, no action is taken against those who open fire on peaceful people, while on the other hand, journalists and political activists are imprisoned. This situation not only questions the justice system but also exposes the state\u2019s priorities. While this movement of the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee is a pioneer of economic, political and social justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concern over the possible transfer of funds from the education boards in the declaration shows that the Awami Action Committee is ready to thwart any attempt at regional division. The fact is that this declaration is a clear message that either communication or full resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the ball is in the court of the rulers. If they do not take this opportunity seriously, this movement may turn into a public referendum where the streets will be more powerful than the halls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not just a declaration, but a warning and history is witness that when warnings are ignored, then revolution breaks in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
