Gilgit \/ Kashgil News<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a joint statement, the Gilgit Union of Journalists and Gilgit Press Club have strongly condemned the negative campaign and character assassination being carried out against local journalists by activists and officials of some political parties. The journalist organizations have made it clear that political parties should stop targeting the media in their mutual disputes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement states that the fight between political parties is their internal matter, dragging local journalists into it and making accusations against them is not acceptable in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite all the dangers and pressure, local journalists are performing their professional duties impartially. Attempts to make responsible journalists controversial on social media are regrettable. Journalists have professional relations with all political, social and religious parties, but this does not mean that the reputation of journalists should be damaged by using these relations as a basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journalist organizations have urged political party officials to show responsibility and warned that if the series of character assassinations against journalists is not stopped immediately, a strong protest path will be taken. And legal action can also be taken against such elements who are targeting media representatives to fulfill their political ambitions. Journalism is the fourth pillar of the state, and making it a training ground for political purposes is contrary to democratic traditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
