Fresh clashes between Israel and Hezbollah continued overnight in Lebanon, during which Iran carried out airstrikes on Lebanon while the armed group fired rockets towards Israel, prompting emergency alerts to be issued in several areas, including Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lebanon\u2019s alleged status in the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States is causing controversy, increasing tensions ahead of peace talks scheduled to be held in Pakistan later this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Israel says it has targeted sites in Lebanon overnight from which it says Hezbollah was firing rockets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the Iran-backed organization says it has fired rockets at several areas in Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fresh clashes come at a time when US President Trump has indicated in a statement that Israel is reducing its operations in Lebanon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 300 people were killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iranian state TV broadcast a statement attributed to the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, saying Iran \u201creserves the right to retaliate\u201d for attacks by the United States and Israel on its country and its allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hezbollah claimed that its forces attacked a group of Israeli soldiers early Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The armed group said the Israeli soldiers were targeted near the southern Lebanese town of Khayam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
