The Gilgit-Baltistan United Movement in Pakistan-administered Gilgit-Baltistan has strongly reacted to the alleged harassment of youth leader and divisional president Nazim Hussain Barq by the Rundu administration and strongly condemned the move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A statement issued by the organization said that Nazim Hussain Barq, who is also an active leader of the Awami Action Committee Rundu, was summoned to the police station for giving a statement related to taxes, where he was allegedly pressured and threatened with registering an FIR and sending him to jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement further said that the administration\u2019s unjustified harassment of Nazim Barq and other youth is a matter of concern and this practice should be stopped immediately. According to the United Movement, raising voice on public issues is the constitutional and democratic right of every citizen, which cannot be suppressed in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization clarified that the harassment of Nazim Hussain Barq is an attempt to weaken the struggle for public rights, however, such tactics cannot be used to intimidate the youth and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secretary General Gilgit-Baltistan United Movement demanded that the relevant authorities take immediate notice of the incident and take action against those responsible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
