The Iranian Navy has closed the Strait of Hormuz, calling the US blockade a violation of the ceasefire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be recalled that earlier this month, a two-week conditional ceasefire was agreed between Iran and the United States, during which maritime traffic was allowed through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, today Iran has closed the vital waterway again, and the Iranian Navy says it will remain closed until the US lifts the blockade on Iranian ships and ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its latest statement, the Revolutionary Guards Navy said that Trump’s statements regarding the Strait of Hormuz “have no validity.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is not clear which specific comment by the US president this statement was made in reference to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that Iran\u2019s leaders want to close the strait, but the US will not allow them to be \u2018blackmailed\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guards said the Strait of Hormuz had been closed since this evening and would remain closed until the US lifted its blockade of Iranian ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the IRGC Navy warned that \u2018no ship should move from its current position in the Persian Gulf or the Sea of \u200b\u200bOman.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accordingly, some ships had passed through the strait under its supervision since last night, but now the waterway will be closed again until the US lifts its blockade of Iranian ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
