US President Donald Trump has made several statements regarding the ongoing negotiations with Iran and the ceasefire, in which he has made it clear that if no deal is reached, the possibility of extending the two-week ceasefire is very low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview with the international news agency Bloomberg, Trump said that until a deal is reached, the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will continue. In another interview with PBS News, he warned that if the ceasefire ends, \u201ca lot of bombs will start going off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump has also expressed his views on the conflict with Iran on the social network Truth Social several times. In one post, he said, \u201cI\u2019m winning the war, things are going very well.\u201d In another post, he claimed that the US was working on a deal with Iran that would be \u201cfar better\u201d than the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached under former President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called the deal \u201cone of the worst national security agreements ever\u201d and said it was a \u201csurefire path to a nuclear weapon.\u201d Trump claimed that if he had not terminated the deal, nuclear weapons would have been used in Israel and the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump added that the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz was costing Iran $500 million a day, which he said was destroying Iran.
