There has been a strong reaction from civic and social circles on the alleged unjustified attempt to arrest Sikandar Shigri, a well-known social activist and powerful voice from the Shigar Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan under Pakistan administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Various circles have condemned the move and said that targeting peaceful social activists is against constitutional and democratic principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They said that under Article 19 of the Constitution of Pakistan, every citizen has the right to freedom of expression, and any attempt to restrict it is unacceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local people and social activists said that differences of opinion are the beauty of democracy and the solution to problems is not in arrests but in dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
