A security high alert was sounded in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, on Wednesday night after several rockets fired from unknown directions fell in different areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three people were injured as a result of the rocket attacks, while roofs of houses, solar systems and a transformer were damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sounds of explosions spread panic throughout the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the police, the rockets fell near Akhtar Muhammad Road, Shanti Nagar, Mir Ahmed Khan Road, New Faqir Muhammad Road, Osmania Gali and Sarki Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three people were injured when the rocket hit a transformer on Mir Ahmed Khan Road, while power supply was suspended in some areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malik Sohail Khan, a resident of Osmania Gali, said that a rocket fell on a roof near his house, causing a loud explosion, but no one was injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Musab Khan Kasi, he was praying in the mosque at the time of the explosion and the sound was so loud that people were scared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The roof of a house in Shanti Nagar was also severely damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the incident, the police, FC and CTD launched a joint search operation in different areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to DIG Quetta Imran Shaukat, checking of suspicious places is ongoing and operations have been intensified to arrest the accused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Security high alert has been imposed across the city, while surveillance on entry and exit routes has been tightened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Balochistan Home Department Assistant for Media Babar Yousafzai said that the situation in the city is completely under control and the public should remain calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, security forces are fully mobilized and the protection of lives and property of citizens is being ensured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far, no armed organization has claimed responsibility for these attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In recent weeks, Baloch independence-minded armed organizations have changed their strategy and shifted their operations to cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In various incidents last month and before, armed militants held control of several areas, including Quetta, for hours, forcing security forces to remain confined to their barracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
