General elections are expected in Pakistan-administered Kashmir in July. That is, the same season in which the faces of the region\u2019s politicians are adorned with artificial humility, lies on their tongues, and lists of dreams of development in their hands. By the way, these people lie all year round, but during election days, the speed and quality of their lies also increase. It seems as if a new \u201cmessiah\u201d is suddenly born inside each candidate who, after being absent for five years, reminds the people that he is their servant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same old dusty speeches, the same rotten promises, the same fake slogans of slander:
\u201cWe will bring prosperity.\u201d
\u201cWe will do development work.\u201d
\u201cWe will provide employment to the youth.\u201d
\u201cWe will make Kashmir the Paris of Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then, as soon as these same people get power, they come together to form governments with each other, as if these people who called each other corrupt, traitorous and incompetent before the elections had not actually been sharing the same plate for years. During the elections, there is mud slinging, accusations, character assassination and verbal abuse, but after power, everyone is at the same table. Because ideas, principles and the people are only to the extent of meetings, the real thing is interests and they all come together to protect these interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, just look at the real reality of this region, which is buried under slogans, flags and emotional speeches in every election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Decades have passed, but the ruling class of this region has not bought a single needle with its own money. Not even a single needle. The reason is quite clear: the region\u2019s own income is not enough to cover the expenses of its heavy administrative structure, ministers, advisors, official vehicles, protocols, salaries, allowances and pensions. Azad Kashmir is completely at the mercy of Pakistan\u2019s taxpayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever infrastructure exists here today. It was built by the international community led by Pakistan after the 2005 earthquake, or by the Pakistani government itself with its own money. Trillions of rupees were spent on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Pakistan gave trillions of rupees to the separate Kashmiri governments for development projects, but that money was seen less on the ground and more in the accounts of politicians, plazas, farmhouses and the lives of families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2005 alone, Pakistan has given about 370 billion rupees to the separate Kashmiri governments for development projects. 370 billion rupees. But the question is, where is that money? Which world-class universities were built? Which industrial zones were established? Which modern health system came into existence? Which economic revolution took place? The fact is that a large part of this money was lost to corruption, commissions, fake projects and political pawns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before 2005, the money that Pakistan gave to the Kashmiri governments for development projects was used to build schools that had no building code, no standards, no planning. The result? When the earthquake hit, those schools turned out to be graveyards for children. 18,000 innocent children were buried under the rubble, and the people who built those shoddy buildings are still big names in politics today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A large part of the 370 billion rupees that have been separately received after the earthquake was used to build substandard or unnecessary roads that are still death traps for people today. After every accident, a few statements, a few condolence tweets, and then silence. Because it is the people who die, not the rulers. But they do not realize why they build these wells of death for corruption and corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if anyone thinks that the story of the disasters of these politicians ends here, then they are deeply mistaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The population of this region is about 2.7 million, but out of them, 1.15 million people depend on the Benazir Income Support Program. 50,000 families, or 2.5 million people, are registered in the program but have not yet started receiving assistance. 33,000 families are living on Zakat. This is the \u201cprosperous Kashmir\u201d whose slogans are raised in every election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One lakh 20,000 families, or about 600,000 people, applied for the Social Protection Program in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, but the program has not yet started. Out of these, only 8,000 families, or 40,000 people, were already registered in the Benazir Income Support Program. The rest were those who had become new victims of poverty, unemployment and economic devastation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only this, the people are being fed substandard flour in the name of subsidized flour, which is full of worms. Their ministers say that there are no worms in flour, but there are worms in people\u2019s minds. There is corruption of Rs 14 to 18 billion in flour given in the name of subsidy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All these figures scream out how deep deprivations, humiliations and miseries the politicians who many people call \u201cForces of Darkness\u201d today have pushed this region into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no economy in this region except government jobs. No industry, no investment, no technology, no private sector. There are already more than one lakh government employees in this useless and bloated administrative setup, which constitutes more than 4% of the population. But still political recruitment continues, because the easiest way to buy votes in every election is to distribute government jobs. And the entire burden is borne by the taxpayers of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The youth here goes abroad for employment. Some die in the dream of Dubai, some drown in the sea via Greece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, someone is ruined by human traffickers. But the children of these politicians never have to travel illegally in boats. Their children study in universities in London, Islamabad and abroad, while the poor child returns as a corpse in the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These rulers have not only increased the number of graveyards in Azad Kashmir, but also in Indian-administered Kashmir, through lies and emotional slogans, they have brought thousands of people to the graveyards for decades. About 70 thousand people were killed, generations were destroyed, families were shattered, but the palaces, protocols and cars of these politicians kept increasing. They gave FCR to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now these politicians have nothing much left to sell to the people. Neither performance, nor development, nor economy, nor education, nor health. Therefore, now most politicians have only one thing left and that is hatred against the people of Indian-administered Kashmir. This is the last weapon with which these people will try to get votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yet, look at the scene:
Workers are showering flowers.
The Advocate General is welcoming.
The Prime Minister is touring in a convoy of fifty vehicles.
The protocol is as if a world conqueror has arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the cost of this whole spectacle? The poor people of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These people suddenly appear among the people during elections, roam the streets, shake hands, carry children in their arms, and then disappear for five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the fact is that they do not live in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their homes are in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their families are in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their businesses are in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their children are in Islamabad or abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They run the government of this region from Kashmir House, Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a political colony just for them in Pakistan-administered Kashmir from where votes, power and money are obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, it is time for the people of all regions of Kashmir to get rid of these \u201cForces of Darkness\u201d. Otherwise, these people will completely transform this entire region into poverty, hatred, corruption and graveyards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
