In view of the protest call and long march given by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee on June 9 in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, the police department has recommended further tightening of security arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to sources, a letter sent by the police department to the Chief Secretary Pakistan-administered Kashmir has said that in order to effectively deal with the situation arising out of the possible protest and long march, additional personnel should be provided from various security agencies and police forces of Pakistan in addition to the existing personnel deployed in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the letter, a total of 14,000 additional personnel have been recommended, including 6,000 personnel from the Frontier Constabulary (FC), 5,000 personnel from the Pakistan Rangers, 2,000 personnel from the Islamabad Police and 1,000 personnel from the Sindh Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, the government of Pakistan-administered Kashmir has issued an advisory, directing tourists, traders and other people coming to the region for other purposes to avoid unnecessary travel in view of the June 9 protest call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government advisory states that due to possible protest activities in the region from June 5 to June 20, 2026, the public should avoid unnecessary travel and entry into Azad Kashmir to avoid any unpleasant situation or travel difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government has also appealed to tourists and other non-locals currently present in Azad Kashmir to leave the region by the evening of June 5 so that they do not have to face any unexpected situation or possible difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee has called for a long march and protest demonstrations on June 9, due to which the government and law enforcement agencies have intensified preparations at the security and administrative levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
