During the ongoing public protest in Rawalakot, Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, business activities have been suspended in the city and its suburbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, traders have voluntarily shuttered down and closed their businesses. All the small and big markets in the suburbs including Paniola, Jhandathi, Jandala are closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local traders say that the shutter down was done without any pressure or coercion and as an expression of public solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, a peaceful protest is underway by placing the body of Shahzeb Shaheed, who was killed in a firing incident yesterday, on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Protesters say that the protest is completely peaceful and a large number of citizens are participating in it. The enthusiasm of the people is to such an extent that the Sabir Shaheed Stadium reserved for Shahzeb Shaheed\u2019s funeral prayers is running low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lakhs of people took to the streets to attend the funeral prayers of their hero and protest against state oppression. Workers and supporters of the Awami Action Committee are continuing their protest activities at various places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to local sources, internet service is also suspended in Rawalakot, due to which the public and the media are facing difficulties in exchanging information. The protesters maintain that despite the communication restrictions, their protest will continue peacefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Khan Ilyas, a corps member of the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, has closed the Azad Pattan entry point along with workers and local people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The protest participants say that their aim is to effectively highlight their demands and public reaction against the recent events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation remains tense due to protest activities and shutter-down in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir, while the Awami Action Committee has expressed its determination to continue its protest movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
