On the appeal of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, convoys have started leaving from across the state today, June 9, towards the capital Muzaffarabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, a heavy contingent of Pakistani security forces, including the Pakistan Army, Rangers and FC, is deployed everywhere and is using street firing and heavy tear gas to prevent the protesters from moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the information received, public convoys have left from Bhimber, Barnala, Samahni and Mirpur. The Rangers, FC and police have erected barbed wire and large barriers at various places, however, the agitated public convoys are moving forward by crossing these barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the schedule, these convoys from Mirpur division will camp in Rawalakot tonight, where they will jointly start the final march towards Muzaffarabad with the convoys from Poonch division tomorrow, June 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation is extremely tense after the bloody crackdown by the forces on the sit-in in Rawalakot yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local sources and protesters are claiming that about 4 dozen (around 48) people have been killed in the brutal firing by the forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Access to information is extremely difficult due to the complete shutdown and blackout of internet and phone services, however, in some horrific video footage that has surfaced on the internet, it can be seen that the roads at the sit-in site in front of Rawalakot Hospital have completely turned red with blood, which is clear evidence of the large-scale killings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to sources, the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot is currently under complete control of the army, where no civilians or media are being allowed to enter. There is a lot of excitement about how many bodies and how many injured are inside the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, several families say that their family members are missing and no trace is found. Public circles are expressing fears that these missing persons have been killed in firing by the forces and now an attempt is being made to erase and hide the evidence of this major tragedy by taking control of the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An atmosphere of fear and panic prevails in the entire region and despite the orders to the forces to \u201cshoot on sight\u201d, a large number of people are taking part in the long march without caring for their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
