Responding to a question regarding the Track Two dialogue between India and Pakistan in Colombo, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said: \u201cThese are privately held events organized by non-governmental parties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talking to the news agency Asian News International (ANI), he added: \u201cWe do not see them as official.\u201d \u201cAll those from India who attend these events, be they retired diplomats, retired military officers or members of civil society, do so in their personal capacity and present their own views.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Indian Foreign Secretary, the individuals attending these events \u201cdo not and cannot in any way represent the position of the Indian government.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vikram Misri\u2019s response came after reports that officials from Pakistan and India had met in Colombo, which was attended by former diplomats, retired military personnel and politicians from the ruling parties of both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
