The Baloch Solidarity Committee (BYC) has said in a statement that the Baloch Solidarity Committee considers the arrest of Joint Public Action Committee Kashmir leader Shaukat Nawaz Mir as another act of revenge against the public and democratic struggle. Whenever the people organize for their fundamental rights, economic justice and the demands of a dignified life, the state\u2019s response comes in the form of arrests, harassment and coercion instead of dialogue and resolution of issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir is actually an attempt to suppress all the public voices who are struggling for the rights, resources and future of their people. This behavior exposes the fact that the state is preferring the use of force instead of giving a political response to public demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that today, be it Kashmir or Balochistan, those who raise their voices for public rights, justice and political freedoms are being targeted in various forms. The arrests of popular leaders are proof that the ruling circles are afraid of public consciousness, organized struggle and collective resistance and are trying to crush these movements at all costs. But the political consciousness and collective will of the people cannot be defeated through coercion, arrests and reprisals. These attempts to crush popular movements are actually an expression of the political failure of the ruling class and its fear of popular power. When the state has no political response left to the demands of the people, it resorts to force, arrests and pressure, but such tactics can neither stop the popular struggle nor eliminate the demands for justice, rights and freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement said that the Baloch Solidarity Committee expresses solidarity with Shaukat Nawaz Mir and the ongoing struggle for public rights in Kashmir. We believe that these policies to crush popular movements are not only contrary to democratic values \u200b\u200bbut also further increase political unrest, distrust and human rights violations in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that declaring the Joint Action Committee null and void and arresting its leaders, laying siege to Kashmir and attempting to crush the people’s movement by force is fascism.
