Eight more people were killed in separate incidents of firing during the ongoing crackdown and shelling by security forces against unarmed protesters in Poonch division of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, 30 people have been killed so far due to the crackdown and lockdown that has been going on for the past one month. After the latest operations, the situation has become extremely tense across the region and curfew has been imposed in many areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Kashgal News and local sources, these deadly incidents of firing on unarmed protesters took place during the advance of forces towards the bus terminal sit-in in Baloch Bathak and Rawalakot tehsils of Sidhnoti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The convoy of forces from Kotli Sarsawa was marching towards Baloch Bathak when local citizens tried to stop them at the places of Saran and Baloch. During this, the forces opened indiscriminate fire on the protesters, as a result of which candidates for the Legislative Assembly Zahid Yasin, Zafar Mughal, Arsalan Kabir, and Ehsanullah died on the spot due to bullet injuries. A total of 5 people have been confirmed dead from this location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second incident took place at the protest sit-in site at the bus terminal in Rawalakot, where 3 people have been confirmed dead as a result of firing by the forces and security operation. The dead include Wajid Hayat, Nasir, and Raqeeb Abid, residents of Son Topa, who were seriously injured by bullet injuries and later succumbed to their injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several people have also been injured in these firing incidents, many of whom are said to be in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raqeeb Abid, who was among the seriously injured, has been shot twice and has been referred to Rawalpindi due to his critical condition, where he could not die, while a citizen named Ijaz is also seriously injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nasir, a young man who was injured in the use of heavy and small arms and tear gas shelling in Rawalakot, has been shifted to Palandri Hospital after receiving first aid, where he also died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation in the entire Poonch division has become extremely explosive after the recent deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to local sources, curfew has been imposed in Tarakhal. Security forces are patrolling the cities and roadblocks have been erected at various places, which has severely affected the movement of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Internet services have been completely shut down in the area for the past one and a half months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to the continuous blockade of the area by the forces, there has been a severe shortage of medicines in hospitals and food items in the general markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that this horrific development has come to light at a time when the Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee has announced its decisive and big long march towards Muzaffarabad on July 15.
