A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered the immediate transfer of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to a private hospital in Islamabad, Shifa International Hospital. The court said that any accused has a fundamental right to health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court has also ordered the formation of a medical board regarding Imran Khan\u2019s health and along with this, the court also said that after Imran Khan is shifted to the hospital, his personal physician Dr. Faisal and his sister Uzma Khan will also be with Imran Khan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court has also ordered the presentation of Imran Khan\u2019s medical report at the next hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three-member bench of the Supreme Court has given this order on the petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf General Secretary Salman Akram Raja and Imran Khan\u2019s sister Uzma Khan, who had filed petitions regarding the health of the former Prime Minister and a ban on meetings with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Shahid Waheed, while giving its order, said that the PTI will not do any politics regarding the health of the former prime minister and the former prime minister will remain in the hospital till the next hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court has fixed the next hearing of these petitions for September 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Supreme Court has also said in its order that all the expenses incurred on Imran Khan\u2019s treatment will be borne by his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court has said in its order that when Imran Khan is shifted to the hospital, there should be no disruption in the law and order situation there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, according to the medical report submitted to the Supreme Court by the superintendent of Adiala Jail, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been found to be showing \u2018severe\u2019 symptoms of anxiety and panic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imran Khan\u2019s medical report has described level three plus of anxiety, which is considered very severe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report also states that the last medical examination of former Prime Minister Imran Khan was conducted on August 10, 2026 by a medical board and this medical board included doctors specializing in ophthalmology, cardiology and medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the report submitted to the Supreme Court, the former Prime Minister is about 73 years old and during the medical examination, Imran Khan\u2019s blood pressure was recorded as 140\/80 while his pulse was recorded as 54 per minute. In this report, the former Prime Minister\u2019s ECG was declared normal, his chest was clear and his heart valves and chambers were normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report also states that Imran Khan complained of feeling heavy in the head and a fast heartbeat, however, according to the medical report, there is no complaint of chest pain, heaviness or shortness of breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report also mentions that the medical board prescribed medicines to control blood pressure and anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, speaking to the media after the Supreme Court ordered the transfer of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to the hospital and the formation of a medical board, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Sohail Afridi said that we have got justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the job of the courts is to provide justice, if the courts do not provide justice, where will the people go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to journalists outside the court, Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said that a ray of light has shone from the Supreme Court today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the court has ordered all the institutions of the state that Imran Khan\u2019s health is a priority and has ordered that Imran Khan be transferred from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital within two days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that we are grateful that this order was made, which we had been demanding for a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further said that the Supreme Court has also ordered the formation of a board of expert doctors at Shifa International Hospital, which will include specialists from all fields, to find out why Imran Khan was diagnosed with the blood pressure disease that is being reported?
