The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have arrested 3 alleged militants belonging to the Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) in a joint operation with a federal intelligence agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arrested persons are accused of killing the owner of a stall selling goods set up on the occasion of 14th August in Defence Phase 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to officials, the arrest was made during a joint operation of the CTD and the federal intelligence agency near Korangi Causeway on August 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The detained persons have been identified as Zafar Ali, Faraz and Sajjad Ahmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police and CTD officials say that 3 hand grenades and a pistol have been recovered from the possession of the suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On August 12, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a stall selling goods in DHA Phase 2, which was set up to commemorate August 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stall owner, Aman, was seriously injured in the firing incident and later succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities have claimed that Arsalan Shah, a member of the SRA living abroad, had provided instructions and funding for the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CTD said that further custodial interrogation of the arrested suspects is underway to ascertain their alleged involvement in other violent incidents and their links to a wider network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, these allegations and arrests made by the security agencies have not been independently or independently verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
