In Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad has refused to give more time for the identification parade of the arrested persons while giving an important decision in the case registered against the protesters in F10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the details, the court had ordered on August 18 that the identification parade of 95 arrested persons should be completed and they should be presented in the court today, August 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, the case was heard in the court of Duty Judge Special Court ATC-1, Wajid Ali. Ansar Mahmood Kiani Advocate, Sardar Busy Advocate, Amna Ali, Murtaza Tori, Zahid Bashir Dar, Komal Jadoon, Barrister Sardar Danish Riaz and other lawyers appeared on behalf of the accused, while Raja Naveed Hussain SPP appeared on behalf of the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ali Akbar HC 732 appeared in the court on behalf of the police and applied that 95 people were sent to judicial lock-up for identity parade, out of which 30 people have completed their identity parade while the rest are still pending, therefore, the judicial remand should be extended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court, in its written order dated 20.08.2026, stated that neither any accused was produced in the court nor the case record was produced. The court had directed the police to produce the accused, however, no accused was produced till the end of the court\u2019s time i.e. 3:30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court expressed its displeasure and declared that \u201cthere is nothing before the court to consider the application in hand, anyway, the presence of the accused in the court is mandatory for remand. Therefore, in the absence of all the accused and the absence of the case record, the application cannot be accepted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court rejected the police’s request and ordered that the order and the request be made part of the police file and judicial record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The further detention of the 95 people arrested after the court order is being considered illegal and they are likely to be released at any time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
