He was less my son and more my friend. He used to share everything with me,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several civilians were killed in the violent incidents during the July 27 long march of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Among those killed was Tabeesh Qayyum, a 22-year-old student from Upper Chhota Gula, Rawalakot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tabeesh was a final-semester BBA student at Jamia Poonch and also worked online. According to his family, he used to return home in the evening after participating in the daily sit-in, but on July 27, he did not return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Tabeesh\u2019s mother Ghazala Bibi, \u201cTabeesh had gone to the sit-in and did not return. We made phone calls but there was no response. He used to come home at 8 o\u2019clock every day, we used to have dinner with him, but that day he did not return.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ghazala Bibi says that Tabeesh used to talk to his father about his future plans. He used to say that after his father retired, they would do business together and that after the situation returned to normal, they would go to Mardan to buy a car, but these wishes could not be fulfilled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tabeesh\u2019s mother added that<br>\u201cHe was less my son and more my friend. He shared everything with me, he was the most beloved eldest son in the house.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Tabeesh\u2019s father, Qayyum Khan, when his son did not return home on the evening of July 27, they started searching for him, but no trace of him could be found till 3 am. When Tabeesh\u2019s body was reached at 8:30 am the next morning, the family came to know that he had passed away during the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Qayyum Khan, the bodies of the other deceased were found at night, but Tabish fell into the bushes after being shot, due to which his body could not be found overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tabish\u2019s father said that his family has no enmity with Pakistani citizens or Pakistan. His question was that if his son and other protesters were declared terrorists, Tabish studied in government educational institutions from primary to university, \u201cwere they teaching terrorism in these institutions?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to an eyewitness to the incident, the protesters did not open fire. He said that in the darkness of the evening, the protesters were targeted by snipers and several civilians were killed in firing at Chowki Mohalla, Drake and Eidgah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 27, the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee started a long march from the main sit-in at Drake Eidgah towards Muzaffarabad. More than two dozen protesters were reported to have been killed in the violent incidents that took place during this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tabish Qayyum was also among the young people who lost their lives in these incidents.
